FIT STRENGTH

My name is Mark Bruce, president and owner, founded FIT | STRENGTH Performance.

I was a former two sport high school varsity athlete both in Basketball and Baseball. I played college basketball at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He started all four years.


My physical abilities on the defensive end and off-court effort were well-known. This separated me from others and helped me be a successful athlete.

When I graduated from college the million dollar question was "what now?"


After I began coaching basketball at the Rochester City School District, I found out I loved working with athletes. I concluded that athletes were over-specialized and underprepared for athletic movement.


This led me down a path of exploration and research on how to help athletes become more athletic.


I received my ACE Personal Training Certification. Then, I completed my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists). Doing so led me down the path of physical preparation. I have also assisted the athletes I have worked with to improve their overall athleticism in their sport.

After working for a few performance-oriented gyms over 5 years, I opened FIT | STRENGTH Performance.


Since opening the doors FIT | STRENGTH Performance has served over 500 athletes and adults.


The main focus at FIT | STRENGTH is to help athletes move better. This results in them jumping higher, playing stronger, and improving their confidence. Overall, they become better athletes! The focus has been to give athletes customized programs catered to their needs. This happens best in a smaller group environment. The small group environment consists of a 5:1 ratio of athletes to coaches. It helps athletes feel motivated by other athletes. It is more cost effective. It allows coaches to give players individualized attention.


They athletes they have trained with us have achieved various goals such as:

  1. Made their high school team
  2. Started on varsity
  3. Help their team win sectional championships
  4. Received offers to play D-1, D-2, or D-3 sports
  5. Reduced pain
  6. Improved confidence and self-esteem


The staff at FIT | STRENGTH are high level coaches. Coaches are always learning about strength and conditioning. They also learn how to better serve those they train. We motivate our clients to give us 110% each session. We push our coaches to that same level. That's why our clients keep coming back and seeing amazing results.
